I was so flattered when Manny, a reporter with The Torch, contacted me about doing an article on my activism and service work. I was happy to participate and happy to see the finished piece. Manny did such a great job reporting on some of the things I’m working on. However, there are two things that appear in the article that I would like to correct:
Stop Sexual Assault In Schools (SSAIS) is a national nonprofit, but it is not federally funded. SSAIS was co-founded by Esther Warkov and Joel Levin. I’ve been actively involved with SSAIS for two years.
“FACEing Mental Illness: The Art Of Acceptance” is a countywide program, started by Carrie Seidman and supported by The Sarasota Herald Tribune. The program is possible because Carrie was elected as a 2016-2017 fellow in the Carter Center for Mental Health Journalism.
